• The name of Yeshua and YHWH:
• YESHUA is the Aramaic transliteration for JESUS (which means ‘He will save’ or ‘Salvation’)
• The name was deeply debated by the early Hebrews.  Due to the fact that many regarded the name of God as too sacred and holy to even mention, it could not be spoken aloud.  Instead, what was used was HASHEM (means ‘The Name’), SHEM HA ME FARESH, NEFABLE NAM, or ADONAI (means ‘My Lord’).
• There were different spellings for YHWH that is used: Yhwh, Yaweh, Yehwah, and Jhwh (German translation).
• In the Greek Septuagint, the name IESOUS or IHSOUV is used (translated means Jesus or Joshua (pronounced YA-SHU-AH)
• JEHOVAH is the translation of YAHWEH

• What is the Septuagint?
  • “…The Septuagint, or simply “LXX“, is a collection of Jewish scriptures, largely the Hebrew Bible, in Koine Greek, translated in stages between the 3rd and 1st centuries BC in Alexandria.^[1]  It incorporates the oldest of several ancient translations of the Hebrew Bible into Greek. The word septuaginta means “seventy” in Latin and derives from a tradition that seventy-two Jewish scholars (seventy being the nearest round number) translated the Pentateuch (or Torah) from Hebrew into Greek for one of the Ptolemaic kings, Ptolemy II Philadelphus, 285–246 BC…” – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septuagint .  It is composed of a total of eighty (80) books.

• Should true Bible Christians use the Apocrypha and/or the Septuagint as Inspired Scripture?
  • During colonization, Catholic scholars were not sure that the Apocrypha was inspired from God.  It was only used as historical reference.  A 5^th century scholar named Jerome, coined term ‘Apocrypha’.  The Apocrypha were also ancient Greek writings.  Jerome translated the New Testament from Greek to Latin; known as the LATIN VULGATE.  Due to unrelenting pressure form the Catholic Church, he reluctantly inserted the complete Latin Vulgate into the Bible, which included the books of the Apocrypha.  True scripture according to the bible states:

•  2 Timothy 3:16 – “…All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…”
•  Ecclesiastes 12:12-13 – “…And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

• The bible refers to scripture, or “the scriptures”, as the Old Testament (which contains the Law and Prophecy).  The New Testament is a confirmation of what is said in the scriptures concerning prophecy.  It also contains prophecy as well (that is mentioned in the Old Testament). When Jesus and the apostles used references to scripture, they usually state “…It is written..”, or “Thus saith the Lord…”.

(Note:  None of the New Testament or Old Testament writers referred to any of the Apocryphal writings.)

•  Ex. – 1 Corinthians 15: 3-7 – “…For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles…”

• What does the word ‘canon’ or ‘canonical’ mean?  When a book is canonized, there are chapters or books that are not included in the final, approved version of a book or bible.
• The most influential benefactor of the Apocrypha was Augustine (354-420 A.D.), the “Father of corrupt theology.” He influenced the Councils of Hippo (393 A.D.) and Carthage (397 A.D.) to declare the Apocrypha canonical.  In his usual form, Augustine also saw to it that any opposition to the Apocrypha was suppressed.  The Apocrypha has been used to support and justify doctrines such as suicide, reincarnation, and “once saved, always saved”.
  • The Word of God says the contrary.  It states in:
    • Ecclesiastes 9:3-5, 10 – “…This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead. For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten…. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
    • Ezekiel 18:26-28 – “…When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.”
    • Revelation 20:12-13 – “…And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.”

• Should Bible Christians use the King James Version and is it the correct translation?

• The Bible of the Protestant Reformation was the Geneva Bible and it included the Apocrypha.  It was the first Bible with footnotes and was opposed by the Catholic Church.
• The current King James Version of the bible is based on the Geneva Bible. (95% Geneva)
• The Pilgrims used the Geneva Bible because it was a Protestant Bible
• The difference in today’s KJV Bible and the 1611 KJV:
  • Apocrypha has been removed
  • Name of Jesus was Iesous:

1. Iesuos, or Iesus 🡪 KJV 1611
2. Jesus 🡪 KJV of today

Conclusion:  The King James Version of the bible is the transliteration of the Old Testament Hebrew and New testament Greek.  It is the closest of all of the translations to the original text.  It is inspired by God (Genesis-Malachi, Matthew-Revelation) and was written by the men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”  The Apocrypha and Septuagint are not inspired by God and are used to solidify false doctrines that are not supported by the Holy Scriptures.

It contains His plan of salvation, and the record of His participation in history. The Bible is God’s revelation of knowledge that man cannot discover for himself.  God chooses us to know of His Son, Jesus through His inspired Word.  It is the foundation of all knowledge, and man’s instruction manual of life.
